I am so excited to share this exciting news – my Birthday Party Blog got a complete well needed makeover. It was not an easy task, but I did it. I will still make changes and be constantly approving and adding fun features, but for now it is up. So if you are looking for all the latest in Kids Birthday Party Themes and anything having to do with party planning I suggest stopping by. Now I had a Baby Alive doll when I was young and I liked it until my brother dissected it to see how it worked, but I do not remember it Pooping. My son saw the commercial on TV and told me I should Blog about it. So here I am blogging about a doll that poops – go figure. I do not know about anyone else, but this disturbs me a bit. The commercial makes it sound so exciting too.  The description is no better:

Baby Alive Whoopsie Doo Doll is an adorable, life-like doll that coos, giggles, eats, pees and even poops on her own, giving your child a fun-filled, true-to-life experience of what’s it’s like to be a mommy. Do you think we need to let our kids experience this at such a young age? Ok maybe it might be a way to get the kids to refrain from having babies so young – I just do not know what to think.

But wait if she goes Poop she will say “Whoopsie” – good thing she gives a warning most babies do not. I am curious to know what others think of this. I remember when that new Barbie came out a few years back with her dog that pooped and she has a scooper to clean it up with – what is going on? Are all the kids toys going to S*%T? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. My sister knew how bad I wanted to see this movie so she pre-purchased tickets for us as an early Birthday present for me a couple weeks ago. I could not wait to see it and today I did – it was well worth the wait. I would have gone with my husband too, but I knew he would make fun of me when I cried so he stayed home. Before the movie I packed my pockets with tissues so I was prepared. I must say I did need those tissues, but not until the end of the movie when it was over.

I cried for the loss of such an amazing talent and also for all the people who worked so hard practicing for this upcoming comeback tour. To think all those months of practicing and putting it together came to such a horrible end. Dreams that came true for them as they were picked to be part of this tour and then ended before it even began – my heart went out to them BIG Time. That must have been so hard on them to not only lose their dream of being on stage in front of an audience, but to have lost the man who was making it happen – their idol – Michael Jackson.

The movie was well made and really showed us just how involved Michael Jackson was in every aspect of his comeback tour.  It also gave us a taste of what could have been – and it would have been one of the best concerts to ever be. Things were being done that had never been done before and it is very sad that we will not get to see it all live the way it should have been seen. Michael was full of energy, excited and really looked the best he had in a very long time. He looked happy doing what he loved to do – it was nice to see. There was laughter, jokes and funny moments that really showed the side we rarely ever got to experience.

I really think that this movie is not it – we saw many glimpses into the songs and dances that would have been performed, but never the entire picture. I am hoping that they have footage of a complete run through dress rehearsal that will follow this movie for us to see it all. I have a good feeling they do – I am hopeful.

If you have the opportunity to see this movie then do it. It is  great even for those who may not be huge fans, because once you see this there is no doubt you will turned into one. Again my heart not only goes out to Michael Jackson’s Family for their loss, but also to the loss felt by all the talent involved in this tour from the dancers, back up singers, production team and everyone involved. I am happy I was able to see this movie and I myself will also always wonder like everyone else what could have been. I do know Michael Jackson will live on and “This is it” is not it and will wait for what is to come next.

Boy I have been busy on my Hubpages – I have been on a kick writing about Cupcakes, Cookies and Birthday Cakes. I guess I was feeling a bit SWEET lately. Nah – You know what it is? I really love cupcakes and that is what started it all and I am having fun finding some great ideas to share.  So let me share some of my newest Hubs that will give you ideas and inspiration the next time you are having a party – or maybe just for the heck of it. To each Hub I have added showcases of photos to give you all kinds of ideas – for me I like to look at the pictures and then create my own designs – so I thought I would not be the only one like that.

Turkey Cupcakes – Every holiday when my family gets together we always plan an activity for the kids to do. One fun activity is to allow them to make their own Turkey Cupcakes.

Reindeer Cupcakes – Reindeer Cupcakes are not only a fun treat around the holidays, but a fun party activity the kids can do any enjoy. This is one of the things I do with the kids on Holidays and at Parties myself.

Snowman Cupcakes – I love cupcakes and I love getting the kids involved in making them. I love to do this at our family gatherings and holiday parties and you can do it too. The kids love to eat them, but they also love to make their own creations.

Princess Birthday Cakes – Princess Birthday Cakes are so much fun to make and not as hard as they look. I am going to share with you some great Princess Birthday Cakes that you can create at home for your little princess. I think at some point every parent that has a daughter will have a party that has to do with a Princess Theme – it is almost a given.

Frog Cakes and Cupcakes – I have been doing a lot of writing about The Princess and the Frog Movie and have come across some of the cutest Frog Birthday Cakes and Cupcakes so I figured I would share them for all of those looking for ideas. You can either use one of the recipes for one you like or use them for inspiration on coming up with your own designs.

Popcorn Cupcakes – I absolutely love these Popcorn Cupcakes and they are a fun treat for all your party guests. So many people are unaware that you can make a cupcake look like popcorn so you will certainly wow them as well.

Pig Cupcakes – Are you having a Pig or Farm Theme Birthday Party? Do you just love Pigs? If you answered yes to any of those then you will really love these Pig Cupcakes – I know I do. I have been doing a lot of writing on cupcakes lately and the design ideas are endless.

Giant Cookie Birthday Cakes – Have fun at your next Birthday Party and instead of a cake – make a Giant Cookie Birthday Cake. Not only are they easy to do – kids love to eat cookies. You do not always have to have the normal type Birthday Cake at a party, sometimes it is fun to change things up a bit. With some ideas you will find here maybe you will be inspired to do just that.

Giant Cupcake Birthday Cakes – Now I love Cupcakes at Birthday Parties, but have you seen the Giant Cupcakes? I do not think a cupcake can get any better than that. Now obviously your Giant Cupcake would not be made for each guest, although I would be ok with that, it would be used as your Birthday Cake.

Easy Birthday Cake Patterns – I was recently doing a blog post on my Birthday Party Blog when I stumbled across these very cool Birthday Cake Patterns and knew I just had to share them. They are sold on Ebay from seller kidz-cakes and I think they are genius.

So far that is all I have in the Sweets, but there will be many more to come. I am also working on a complete over haul to my Birthday Party Blog which will take up most of my time and I already have a busy week. With the holidays  approaching us and all those new Stuffed Animals that will be given to your kids – you may want to think about where you are going to put them all.  Every year before Christmas I go through my kids toys and weed out what they do not play with any more. I usually donate them by bringing them to a local store which accepts them or I have been also going on Craigslist or Freecycle and asking if there may be a needy family that could use some toys. I know this year there we be a lot of them. It is a good way to also get the kids to part with some of their things. Knowing they are donating to a good cause and giving a toy to a child that may not otherwise have any is a good lesson for them.

Even with all the donations my daughter loves her Stuffed Animals and Plush and does have quite a bit of them she still cannot part with. This past year I discovered one of the best ways to organize them and it is with a product called The Zoo. The picture above shows her stuffed animals now organized and easily accessible for her to play with. I keep writing about this to get the word out to other parents for this has made such a huge difference in keeping them all neat and tidy. It also makes it easier for my daughter to find and play with them now vs. being all in a big bucket.

They are all my own pictures shown and what I am using myself. Trust me I am the parent where everything has a home and when it does I am very happy. How about a Barack Obama Rubber Ducky – think how much fun your next bath time could be with this Duck. You can sing “Rubber Baracky you the one – you make bath time lots of fun…..” What a great gift idea for the holidays – Strange – Yes – Fun – Definitely!!!

You will also find a Barack Obama Pinata – I could just imagine the possibilities for that. Talk about some added fun to your party.

Are you ready for Halloween? Do you have your costume picked and ready to go? My kids are almost ready – My daughter wants to be a Wizard Witch – that is a cross between a Wizard and a Witch obviously. She is wearing a very sparkly Witch costume we bought on clearance last year and will carry a wand. It is what she wants – so I am all for it. My son wants to be a stick figure – is that funny? It is so easy to make. I got him a Black Shirt and Black Sweat pants – cost me $11.  Now I have to find the Glow in the Dark Masking Tape and then just tape it on the shirt and pants and he is done. Seems too easy for me this year – but I am so not complaining.

I still have yet to carve or paint my pumpkins. The picture you see above is my Painted Dog Pumpkin I made last year – isn’t he cute? I wrote a Hubpage all about Pumpkin Carving Alternatives you can take a look at to see some of the other ones we made last year.  I have not decided which approach I will take this year. I did grow my own Pumpkins for the first time this year and got a few good ones in some fun shapes.

I am guilty this year of not taking out my Halloween Decorations – I have been so busy I just have not found the time. I do have some festive fall decor outside my home, but usually the inside is filled with decorations. The kids have not said anything so I do not see the urgency of going in the attic at this point to get them out. I did make a great Squidoo page all about Halloween Window Decorations and was hoping to get some myself, but sometimes life can be too busy – so I guess next year. In my area the kids do not trick or treat at my house because it is too rural so no one will be coming to see them anyway.


I do have to share my favorite Halloween Costume I have seen this year – I am not sure why I like this one, but it really made me laugh. Have you seen the Toilet Costume? I think this is great and so wrong all at the same time – so for me it is the perfect costume if you have it in you to wear it. Was that a Pun? I have to say if you want attention at your Halloween Party then this is one that will no doubt bring it on.

Halloween is that time of year that tells us once we get through that – Thanksgiving and Christmas is right around the corner and to me that is the scariest thing about it. Those holidays I am totally not ready for at all!!!

I really think Mattel created a great product that will appeal to a lot of age groups and is also educational too.  I know my daughter learned some Spanish from watching the show and they can also do the same playing the game.  If your daughter is a Dora Fan then I think this is a great choice for a gift. Have you seen the new Twilight Scene It Game yet? Well it happens to be one of the Hottest Games for Christmas 2009.  I have never really played any of the Scene It Games myself, but they are so popular and Twilight Scene It has many people buying. The Twilight Movies and The New Moon Movie have been so liked by many and this game will test fans  knowledge of the movies, books and more through interactive trivia. It is a great game for the kids to play when hanging out or for the entire family.

I am a huge fan of the movie A Christmas Story and I can watch it over and over every year. My older sister just recently told me she has never seen the movie and I almost feel off my seat.  I thought this movie is one everybody has seen at least once, but I guess I was wrong. So my mission is to get her to see it this year – she has seen bits and pieces, but that is not good enough.

The reason it came up in conversation was because I happened to stumble across some Christmas Story Party Supplies and decided I would put together an entire party based on the movie. So I did a lot of thinking and created some great party games that can be played based off some of the best scenes from the movie and also some great finds to go perfectly with the theme.
