Are you A Christmas Story Movie Fan?

a-christmas-story

I am a huge fan of the movie A Christmas Story and I can watch it over and over every year. My older sister just recently told me she has never seen the movie and I almost feel off my seat.  I thought this movie is one everybody has seen at least once, but I guess I was wrong. So my mission is to get her to see it this year – she has seen bits and pieces, but that is not good enough.

a christmas story party supplies

The reason it came up in conversation was because I happened to stumble across some Christmas Story Party Supplies and decided I would put together an entire party based on the movie. So I did a lot of thinking and created some great party games that can be played based off some of the best scenes from the movie and also some great finds to go perfectly with the theme. You can see the entire post here: A Christmas Story Party. The ideas are great for Birthday Parties and even for your Family Holiday Parties to give them some extra added fun.

Everything is there from How to make a Leg Lamp Cake to making your very own Secret Decoder like the one Ralphie got in the mail to decode the message “Be sure to drink your Ovaltine”.  I am so excited over this party theme – I am very happy with how it came out and the game ideas are great so if you want a party for the holiday that will have the guests talking you must stop by and check it out.

I also did a Hubpage on Ralphie’s Pink Nightmare – if you saw the movie you will know this is the gift he received from Aunt Clara. It was one of my favorite scenes in the movie.  Did you know you can buy the Pink Bunny Pajamas? It is true you can own your very own Pink Nightmare and I wrote all about it.  Could you imagine wearing it your self or giving it to someone as a gift – how funny would that be. So stop by and check it out – I Triple Dog Dare ya!!!

How to make Corn Chowder

027

You will see I will be posting a bit and sharing my Squidoo RocketMom Assignments over the next few days. It is part of my summer school with Squidoo and Friday is my deadline to have all my writings in to graduate. Being a procrastinator I have been catching up writing a bunch last minute – BUT I would the best under pressure.

So with that being said I had to write a Recipe Lens – So I wanted to share a family recipe that we enjoy and is one of my favorites and it is How to make Corn Chowder.  We have been making this for years and it is one of those recipes that the entire family loves. My husband is the one that usually makes it – he loves to cook – me not so much. When I do like to cook I have to find recipes that show pictures of what I am making – this has become a joke in my family.  So of course I share all the step by step directions to making this chowder with photos. The best part was that I got to make my husband cook up a batch so I could document the steps – extra bonus!!!

So as your mouth waters looking at the photos you can see how easy this recipe is and the best part of it is that it is so versatile. You can add in more veggies, chicken and your own spices to your taste. I share it the way we like to eat it, but sometimes we also change it around. My other favorite part of this Chowder is that is it so BUDGET FRIENDLY. So check it out and warm up your belly with my Family Recipe.

You can also see some of my other recipes on Squidoo I have written that are more family favorites:

turkey soup

Our Turkey Soup Recipe – Where we take all those leftovers from Turkey Dinner and create another great meal. This recipe was handed down from my Mother-in-Law.

bacon chicken recipe

My Chicken got Porked – This is where I wrap a whole chicken in bacon – for an easy delicious tasting meal.
