My review of The Princess and The Frog Movie

So on opening day of Disney’s The Princess and The Frog Movie – I went and saw it.  Just got back about a half hour ago. I decided to have a mom and daughter day and it is very rare that I ever see a movie the day it opens.  I am not one for crowds and busy theaters – just me.  I was luck that my local town theater was featuring this movie today – so I got extra lucky. So what did I think? I loved it – It is very rare that any Disney Movie would not be liked. The introduction of Princess Tiana was well done and it is nice to have a new Princess in the line up.

I think the movie sends a great message to younger children about working hard to achieve your goals and dreams. Yes of course there is also the fantasy of kissing a frog and finding your prince, but that is the fantasy part of the movie. I also really enjoyed all the Jazzy New Orleans Style Music throughout the movie and it really added to the charm. I think this movie had all the magic Disney Movies bring between the animation. music and the message. I came out of the theater with the thought – Dreams do come True and truly if you believe they will.

I give this movie 2 thumbs up and if you have the opportunity to see it – I say go for it. So once again – Welcome Princess Tiana – there is no doubt little girls everywhere are happy you have been created.

Now that I have seen the movie I will be making some changes to The Princess and The Frog Party Theme I have put together to reflect some ideas I have gathered from watching the movie. So be sure to come stop by and see.

My Birthday Party Blog got a makeover

I am so excited to share this exciting news – my Birthday Party Blog got a complete well needed makeover. It was not an easy task, but I did it. I will still make changes and be constantly approving and adding fun features, but for now it is up. Princess and the Frog Party

I am so excited for the new Disney movie The Princess and The Frog and the introduction of Princess Tiana –  Disney’s first African American Princess. It has been a very long time since Disney has had a new princess for all the little girls to idolize. I have to share a great Squidoo page I put together that has everything needed to have a Princess and The Frog Birthday Party . I worked very hard on this one and it includes everything from the Official Disney The Princess and The Frog Party Supplies, Invitations,  Games, Crafts, Free Printable Games and a lot more. It is definitely a one stop shop to putting this theme together and I will keep it updated with all the latest supplies as they are released.

In addition to that I have put together some great party kits to go along with this celebration on my website. I have to say I am so in love with the great party colors that were chosen for the party supplies – I think they are so pretty with the purple, green and blue. I give Kudos to the Disney people behind designing those – they are beautiful.

I also created a Hubpage on Princess Tiana and some of the new toys starting to take over the market – and we all know they will take over the market. Disney never lets us down when it comes to marketing and Princess Tiana just opened up a new door to let the flood flow. I am looking forward to seeing how they will change all the existing merchandise to incorporate the new princess.  Something tells me we will see a Huge influx this 2009 Holiday Season as the movie is set to be in theaters in November.  Perfect timing Disney!!! So even with the number of toys currently available at this time – there is no doubt in my mind it will double.

Disneyland and Walt Disney World plan to add a Mardi Gras-style musical cavalcade called Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee for the 2009 holiday season, according to theme park officials. This sounds like so much fun.  This special treat is only for a limited time and opens in Disney World on October 26th, 2009 and will only run until January 3rd, 2010. I think if you can get there to see this it will magical. I am sure Disney Parks has something in the works for a permanent attraction based on The Princess and The Frog, but we will have to wait and see. Ya know my dad works at Disney World (yes I am lucky) so I will have to see if he has any inside information. Hmmmm.

Is the Webkinz hype dying?

There was a time when everyone had to have a Webkinz from Ganz – well all the kids at least.  I am wondering if the hype is now starting to fade away.  I just updated one of my many Squidoo pages about all the New and Upcoming Webkinz and as I was doing that I wondered.  Even though Ganz is still releasing new Webkinz Plush and other products its seems to me that things have slowed down in sales. Two years ago these virtual pets were one of the hottest toys on the market and I know first and being my daughter was all about them. Even my party business took off with my Webkinz Birthday Party Theme I created called the Webfriendz Party Package.  The party package is still available, but sales for that have slowed as well.  I have seen a jump in sales for my Webkinz Party Favors – KrispyKinz which are the Chocolate Covered Rice Krispy Treats that resemble Webkinz Animals, but my thoughts are Webkinz may soon fade out.

There have been many attempts on other products from Ganz like the Webkinz Trading Cards, Webkinz Figurines, Webkinz Mouse Pads, Webkinz School Supplies, Webkinz Carriers and Purses, Webkinz Christmas Ornaments, Webkinz Beauty Line, Kinz Clothing, Webkinz Charms,  Outfits for the Webkinz and more.  I think all of those have also faded out now and never really took off in my opinion. I think the kids just wanted the plush that they could play with online.

It has been awhile since I have looked at all the new Webkinz and some of the new ones are very adorable, but somewhere along the line I got lost in the over production of merchandise that came out all at once. I have a feeling as a parent I am not the only one. I think it became very hard for the kids to keep up on them all and most seemed to lose interest. Maybe I am wrong, but I have seen it up close with my own child and those around me.  I will be curious though to see how they fare through the 2009 Holiday Season and if they will stay a Hot item or slowly fade into our memories.  I guess every good thing must come to an end at some point.  I just also wonder what the next big toy craze will be and what my kids will be begging for next.

I will keep all my Squidoo Webkinz Pages fresh as possible  – I am working on cleaning them up now.  Just to note:  My daughter still plays with her Webkinz, but the plush and rarely goes online to play the games.  A complete switch from what it was in the beginning- go figure.  Maybe I am completely wrong, but it just had me thinking – so I thought I would blog.

New Littlest Pet Shop Toys

So like I said I was doing  some cleaning of my Squidoo Lenses and I turned my focus to all my Littlest Pet Shop Pages.  I have 3 of them: Littlest Pet Shop Toys and Gifts where you can find all the latest in Littlest Pet Shop Pets, Games, Bedding, Crafts, Books, Playsets and more. My daughter is a big fan of these and I have to say so am I – I really love the little Bobble Head Pets. The hardest thing for me to deal with is how to keep up with them all – there are so many of then and they are constantly making new ones. I did post some great handbooks that allow you to mark off the Littlest Pet Shop Pets you have. I think that is a great ideas for the fans.

So I think I am done updating for the day – it is Sunday and I should really be relaxing. This is the problem with working from home – your work is always here and it is so easy to just get online and go. Maybe I need to set some hours for myself? I will have to think about that one.

I just updated my Squidoo Lens called All About Elmo and it now includes all the latest Elmo Toys for your Christmas 2009 shopping. Little Einsteins Birthday Party Supplies

Are you looking to throw a Little Einsteins Birthday Party for your Little fan? Well I just completed a post on my party blog showing all the great party supplies that are currently available. I must say there is a huge selection to choose from.  I myself do not know a lot about this show that appears on Playhouse Disney because my kids are older now, but from what I have read it looks adorable.

In addition to that post I also wrote about How to make your own Pinata and told the story all about my Fish Pinata. So stop by and check that out – it was fun to make and I have lots of photos and directions there as well.  Learn why it was too heavy and the kids had to smash it while it was on the ground. lol

I also wrote about a Simple Spiderman Birthday Cake I made for my son when he was little. I miss those days – he is so past the Spiderman thing now and into more expensive things likes computers and electronics.  Maybe I should be researching how to make a computer cake for his birthday next year. Hmmm maybe I should get on that.

My daughter’s birthday is tomorrow with her Penguin Theme Birthday Party on Saturday so I have been planning. I have been making my own decorations and coming up with some fun game ideas. She is doing it at night so we can have a fire and make smores and night swim  – that works for me. I will write all about it when it is over so stay tuned. Now I am off to cook dinner for the family then to make some more penguin decorations for the party………

Summer Birthday Party Theme Ideas

I figured I would give out some links to some great Summer Party Themes to help with that fun summertime party. Now my daughter’s party is coming up in two weeks and of course she picks a Penguin Party Theme out of all things.  So I am working on that and will update with all the photos and ideas I use for a COOL party in the heat of the summer.

Jonas Brothers Birthday Party Supplies have finally come

All of those girls will be happy to know that the Jonas Brothers Party Supplies have been released – I can hear the high pitched screams now. I think Disney did a great job on the design – it is very mature looking I think. I also think they made a great selection of items to choose from. So Parents give those screaming fans a party to remember with those adorable Jonas Brothers Party Supplies – I can just see the girls kissing their plates that feature Joe, Nick and Kevin. I also added a post on Jonas Brothers Birthday Cakes – all of the edible images available – so they really can eat them all up!! lol

Some of my other posts have been the G-Force Birthday Party Theme – I have to tell you I cannot wait to see this movie – being an owner of 9 pets – An Elite force of Animals is right up my alley. Sometimes I think mine are on a spy mission in my own house. This party with definitely be a popular one with the kids – no doubt.

I also posted some of my own Favor Bag making details on How to make a Luau Favor Gift bag and a Teddy Bear Favor Gift Bag – they are both fun and so simple to do and the guests always love them. I will be sharing more of my ideas coming soon.

Another fun post I did was on Cupcake Decorating Ideas using Cupcake Rings and Cupcake Picks. I really like using cupcakes at parties vs. cakes to avoid all the kid arguments – oh and it is easier on me to not have to cut the cake – is that wrong? Oh well the kids love them anyway and I have never had any complaints.

Then last but not least I added a post on Personalized Birthday Party Posters. I really feel in love with these – kids really like to see their names – I know I did when I was young – oh heck I still do who am I kidding. These are available in almost any theme and you can add any sentiment you like – they are great for birthday party decorations or a great gift idea.
